The meaning of things, wondering over sense, meaning and signifier. I think about all of these ideas, about their meaning sometimes without being able to fully understand them and make them mine.

And then there is sense in its more phisical form as sensuality. What is the link, the connection between the two? Meaning and sense, sense and meaning. Maybe it is the desire to catch it, get it, make it mine, understand it and close a circle.

Sense is what I use, a filter to understand and interpret the world around me, sense is what I am surrounded by, it is a sort of code, an alphabet. There is my skin, the smell of coffee, fatigue and effort, Mozart’s Ave Verum, the smell of rust and the diesel of the locomotives at the train station when one is about to leave, a new and unexpected look into somebody’s eyes.

I know of an old Hindu prayer, Gayatri, directed to the Universal Mind, its purpose is to increase the power of judgment and of knowledge in order to be able to understand one’s own divine nature.

* “Senso” in Italian can mean both meaning and sense
